Spiritual insight from Einstein

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.~Albert Einstein

Inside..Composed by me.. 03/31/2012

Look to the sun..yet ponder the darkness
Remains to be seen..thoughts encompass
Among the realms the absence exists,
Can decide nothing but time.
Exploring its depth.. the absolute rush
Contemplating..looking back
Lacking in much ..
But a minute arrived,
the senses understood
The silent heart beats
A break in time begins
As the arrow to its point,
times' only chance..to win.

The way it should be

People Holding Hands Pictures, Images and Photos

Well, it seems to me that the best relationships -- the ones that last -- are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. It's like, one day you look at a person and you see more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend... is suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with..

I heed not

I heed not that my earthly lot
Hath little of earth in it--
That years of love have been forgot
In the hatred of a minute:--
I mourn not that the desolate
Are happier, sweet, than I,
But that you sorrow for my fate
Who am a passer by.
Edgar Allan Poe

The miracle of Woman

"We have dreamt of every woman there is, and dreamt too of the miracle that would bring us the pleasure of being a woman, for women have all the qualities / courage, passion, the capacity to love, cunning / whereas all our imagination can do is naively pile up the illusion of courage." ~ Jean Baudrillard

Love.........

I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for their religion -
I have shudder'd at it.
I shudder no more.
I could be martyr'd for my religion
Love is my religion
And I could die for that.
I could die for you.
~ by John Keats ~

I'd like to run away
From you,
But if you didn't come
And find me ...
I would die.

Self Worth

This image really defines the true meaning of "a shadow of one's self". As the person walks towards the light the shadow becomes elongated and deformed, looking less and less like the person it's supposed to represent. Light is an interesting concept in that it can either define you or enlighten you. However, I think this image really challenges that concept in a positive manner. Unlike Peter Pan one can not hide from their shadow into a drawer and simply move into the light of Never Never Land to stay young forever. Although, one is able to have hope that moving to the light will bring some happiness. I think this is really expressed with in the photograph as the person looks both hesitant and confident in walking towards the light. While the body language is saying one thing the shadow is saying another. While the light becomes more intense and as the person moves closer towards it, the shadow becomes longer and increasingly distant. The composition of the photograph also allows for the full effect of this, the cars ahead and the strip of concrete on the left hand side to give a sense of perspective.

Rain

The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency. ~Susan Allen Toth

9-11

"Sept. 11 01, New York"
While the shocking unfolding events of Sept. 11, 2001
stunned the media and the world,
thin crisp pure clouds of a morning sky
embraced intense fire and smoke of hate.
And within
the unseen world...
Angelic hosts ran to and fro
helping thousands of confused souls
merge towards a place called heaven,
aided by selfless Fire Fighter,
Police and EMS workers,
with wings of gold.
Whist a
survivor,
stunned and dazed
looks away
as if in a haze.
But then by grace
there came a break,
America! America!
God Shed His Light On Thee!
She turned,
and in an instant
the tears dried from her eyes
and thought...
Perhaps some how and somewhere
beyond the vision of darkness
the unlearned
ignorant
will understand
that life is more precious than death,
and that love is more powerful than hate.
